Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year! I guess the natives here would say something like, "Glædelig Jul og Godt Nytår!" This year, however, I spent christmas in the neighboring country, Sweden. I was most gratefully treated with hospitality by the Isacson family, whose son I was in Master's with last year. To say the least it was a good time where i got my fill of salty raw fish and swedish, a language, you would say, "sings" its words. On New Years Eve, I spent the last few minutes of 2006 on top of the church to greet the oncoming year. The view was breath taking, as it seemed like everyone in Copenhagen was shooting off fireworks simultaneously. For miles and miles (kilometers and kilometers- for my european audience) in every direction there were dazzling colors exploding in the sky, a well spent celebration, i thought. For the last few remaining days of the break I am enjoying the chance to be alone and getting some things done (like a xanga post, yeah!). So that is it for a slight update to my life in the present times. I look forward to seeing everyone again, especially a certain someone, but until then may your breaks and times be merry and happy in the midst of the holiday cheer.

24 hours of travail and 5000 miles of land and sea, I find myself in the wonderful land of Danmark. Oh if I could only think of the words to properly display how good it feels to be here. One element of this return I could formulate words to is the surprising feeling of comfort and home that I find here in this foreign land. Being an American it is common to be someone never or rearly expirices another country. Resulting in my own life as a special yet awkward feeling whenever I would get the opportunity to be abroad. This time, however, I arrived and this feling was no where to be found. The only feeling discovered was this sence home. There was no one to greet me at the Danish airport only the common, mondain public train which would bring me to my destination filled with so many friendly faces saying no more then, "Hej." What a beautiful thing to have a home so far away from home.

Look it's a bird, no! It's a plain, no! It's James posting on his site!! I found this intro very appropriate due to the current event of Superman coming out to theaters and the fact that is was probably not far from what you were thinking. But enough about intros let's go on to my life. I feel like I owe you an update (as well as an apology for not xangaing) of the great time I have been up to this summer. One (En) I am typing at a new computer, oh yeah it's an Apple and it's beautiful. Two (To) I spend my time either with family or with my friends, more like friend named Abe. Three (Tre) a highlight of the week is Monday night when I get to meet up with my other friends and we have a Bible Study (more like God discussion). Four (Fire) I got to see my long lost relatives, and will get to see my Grandma soon (finally after 3 years since the last time). Five (Fem) I travailed to Florida with four good friends for the best three days ever and for the lovely wedding of Nolen and Hannah Tarantino. Six (Seks) I have been recently getting ready for one more year in Copenhagen, the best city in the world! And that is the just of what I have been up to. To summarize it in other words I found this quote today, "Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world" (by author Ada Louise Huxtable)

Failure On

What to say? I find myself in a crossfire between an uncreative mind and an uneventful summer.  So I take cover in a bunker that is labeled, "Simple Pleasures of Life".  Here is where I find comfort from all the chaos. That is when the most unexpected thing happened.  I look to see a chess in the corner, one that you would expect to find the richest of treasures in.  Out of curiosity I approach this mysterous object.  As I tried to open it, I found that had not been opened for a while as the rust had over come the hinges and locks.  With a last attempt I finally succeed in prying the box open to reveal the most peculiar thing. It was a picture of a young man.  Doing not much, almost nothing at all really.  He seemed to be resting as if he had blocked out all the pressures of the world.  He was sitting there surrounded by a number of people. A varity of people that some look like they could be his family, while others had the appearence of close friends. As I peered into the picture for more understanding  I found that this young man looked a lot like me! In fact it was me!  It didn't puzzle me for some odd reason why my picture was in this treasure chess, it just seemed to make sense.  I  put the picture in my pocket and walked out the bunker with a sense of satisfaction, for that is where I found myself this summer.
